"Star Trek IV" composer dies at 83

Leonard Rosenman, the Oscar-winning composer of the score for "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home," died today (3/4/08) of a heart attack at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, CA. His Oscar-nominated score for TVH (it lost to the score for "'Round Midnight" by Herbie Hancock)was only one of two Oscar-nominated Trek film scores (the other being Jerry Goldsmith's TMP score).
