STAR TREK 25TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL - William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy host this 2-hour behind the scenes special on TOS, TNG and the first 6 movies (including a preview of STAR TREK VI). I think you gonna enjoy this video, which was released on VHS and LD in the early 1990s.

This is what made me a fan when I was a little kid.

Me too ! I was 21 and I was very excited by stuff like this.

I think I was 4 or 5! This special, and the accompanying top 10 marathon were my intro into this world. My dad recorded both off tv and I wore the tapes out.

I remember seeing it on VHS too, taped from a friend in the US, alonside TNG fifth season episodes.

From a time Paramount actually promoted Star Trek on TV. LOL

Good old days.

I taped this off-the-air in '91, and I must've watched it about a dozen times. It got me so jazzed for STVI, too (not that I needed any prodding). This was one of the better Trekumentaries.

Not wanting to start a whole new thread over a single (small) news item, I found this online today:

http://framework.latimes.com/2016/09/06/1966-interview-with-william-shatner/

^
An old, pre-Star Trek (January 1966) L.A. Times interview with a (very) young William Shatner; at the time his 'biggest' projects were Roger Corman's "The Intruder" (1961) and his guest-stint on "Dr. Kildare" (as well as his Broadway run in "The World of Suzie Wong").

And here are NBC interviews with Shatner and Nimoy in costume as Kirk and Spock filmed at Desilu soundstage, circa August 1966, during filming of WHAT ARE LITTLE GIRLS MADE OF ? Priceless stuff, this Nimoy interview appears on FOR THE LOVE OF SPOCK courtesy of yours truly.

Another 1967 TV interview with Nimoy - very rare stuff.

No sweat.  I'll merge them.

I just didn't want to start a whole new thread for a couple of paragraphs when Shatner kind of already has a bio thread...
