Star Trek: Agree or Disagree

Recommended Posts

Disagree. It suits their cowardly, dishonourable lifestyle perfectly. :giggle:

The bridge should always be located at the top of the ship.

Disagree.

Too vulnerable. Prefer BSG's CIC, hidden deep in the ship.

Ron Moore's BSG is what VGR should've been.

Agree.

VGR needed more conflict within the ship to keep the trip more interesting, and to move away from the "alien-of-the-week" theme. However, VOY was a product of its time and shows with the dark dystopian vibe hadn't found much of a footing in the late 1990s/early 2000s.

Chief O'Brien is more of a miracle worker than Geordi LaForge.

Agreed.

O'Brien and Scotty would've been great drinking buddies.

Agree.

The Irishman would have drank the Scot under the table.

BTW, Vie, what will you be doing with that new Dominion cruiser you got there?

I think I'm gonna go pirate. Nothing says "pillage" like a BoP. :)

Nothing says pillage like a BoP....

* As for the new Dominion ride? Thought I'd rule the universe for awhile, see how that goes... :P

New statement:

Smooth headed Klingons were more cunning and devious than their dumber lumpy-headed brethren.

Disagree. They were too busy with their fake tan and eyeliner to be cunning and devious.

The TMP Enterprise is the best of the lot, and her design is timeless even today.

Disagree it's the best, but agree it's a timeless design.

Every even Trek movie is better than the odd numbered one immediately preceding it.

How can one not agree?

The Borg should have been forgotten about after TNG.

Disagree.

They should've maintained their menace though by acting as a mindless hive....

Star Trek TMP is a masterpiece under-appreciated in its own time and even now.

Disagree, and to answer Zef'No's post as you both answered at the same time, also disagree. Look at the mess we got for number twelve...

Reading the Star Trek tech manuals is more fun than browsing Memory Alpha.

Agree. I look through the DS9 one often, too to this day.

The captaincy of Kathryn Janeway was a seven year-long cautionary tale.

Disagree.

It was largely a seven year waste of time.

"Spock's Brain" is so bad it's actually good.

Agree.

Decker (the son, not the father from TOS) would have made a good captain of the Enterprise if he had survived TMP.

Disagree (begs the Founder's forgiveness... :P ).

Decker would've got them all 'digitized' when he recommended "screens and shields" upon approach to V'ger (V'ger was very touchy about that sort of thing...)

Star Trek TMP was the only ST movie that truly qualifies as genuine science fiction.

Agree.

Disregarding the failures of the show, the starship Voyager is a pretty cool design.

I kind of agree.

Not my favorite, but far from my least favorite either.

Neelix: the Jar Jar of Star Trek.

Disagree.

The Yeager-class is the ugliest kitbash in Star Trek history.

Agreed!

The ugly, unloved offspring of Voyager and a Nebula class....

The uniforms of ENT were pretty cool.
