Parallels

Recommended Posts

Episode name: "Parallels"

Season: 7

Director: Robert Wiemer

After he returns from a bat'leth tournament, Worf is the only person who notices subtle changes on the Enterprise. (Memory Alpha)

*************

I love this episode because...

a) it provides so many fan fic possibilities *grin*

b) it features Jean-Luc eating cake

And Distressed!Worf is also rather amusing to watch. Especially when Troi massages his shoulders and kisses his neck and he's all like "eeeeeeeeeeeeeek!"

This is one of my favorite season 7 episodes! It was great and some funny scenes there with Worf...poor Worf, got freaked out by Troi massaging his shoulders lol

I wouldn't get freaked out by Deanna massaging my shoulders! ;)

I'd love it, actually. :giggle: Never stop a good thing, Worf, lesson learned. :thumbsup2:

One of my all-time favorite episodes.

"I believe Data's painting is making me dizzy...."

I can't blame him - the painting makes me dizzy as well. :S Too. Many. Colors.

Ah, one of my favorite TNG episodes. So many possibilities, so many realities to chose from!

Plus, Worf is saying "WTF" all throughout the episode with him and Deanna, and then him and Deanna with kids (...uh....), then Him being first officer over Data (What? Data was a rank ahead of him, but I guess the producers were like "Data as first officer was seen in Future Imperfect, let's have Worf wear red!" ) and best of all the Borg reality, where Riker has to kill...Riker-with really long beard.

Sadly, this also brought back Wesley  JK Will Wheaton, don't twitter about me!

A great ep.

^ I don't know...I reckon he did well to deliver the lin about receiving 285,000 hails and keep a straight face ;)

Briliant episode, I love all these ones where they muck around with alternate futures but eventually restore the status quo :thumbsup2:

You mean like how the new movie should've ended?

One of my favorite epps. It demonstrates what Mirror Mirror did years ago - that there is a multiverse in which the same reality we know is lived differently depending on the choices we and others make, and continues to exist "parallel" to the reality we live in. IDIC at its finest...

:WarBird:

Word to that, brother. At its finest...unlike something else that tried to accomplish this and failed. *cough*

^ Woah-damn! I'll see you in line for the sequel.

:P

That you will. But only if the story doesn't deal with:

1) Time travel

2) More origins

3) A planet-destroying weapon of some type (I know the writers have a fetish for that kinda stuff ;))

and

4) Khan

You know, maybe in that parallel existence, Khan is awakened by the time-travelling Doomsday machine...in 1996.

:angel_not:

Then I will declare Trek officially dead. And I will finally have PROOF that Orci, Abrams and Kurtzman are talentless hacks. ROFL

You mean there isn't proof already?

Oh, well.

Back on topic....

Parallels is one of my favorite episodes, it's fun, it's amazing, it's so well-written and everything comes together into a rather spellbinding tale. Frightened Worf FTW!

This was a pretty good episode, even if Worf was the center. I love stories concerning alternate realities :)

Being the Worf fan that I am I found this episode interesting, of course it's DS9 that appeared to specialise in the Worf episodes. Worf in red, Deanna a 'mate', Wesley, Geordi dying...and 200-odd thousand Enterprise's. Oh, and a crazed Will Riker. Excellent.

I used to cringe at Worf episodes, because I was tired of him constantly disobeying direct orders... However, after becoming a fan of DS9, I now have a better appreciation for his episodes. I really, really enjoy this episode! I don't put it up there with MIRROR, MIRROR, but it comes close. I think Michael Dorn does a great job of being confused and horrified at the same time.

Three of my favorite episode moments:

1) The look he gives Troi when she says that her mother will be his Step Mother because of Worf asking Troi to be Alexanders sol-chalm.

2) There is a Cardassian DRIVING the ship near the end of episode! hehe

3) The Grizzly Adams version of Riker in the Borg war torn reality, with Worf running around tactical like a mad person! LOL!!

AND for the first time today, I noticed that Brent Spiner isn't wearing his yellow, cat like contacts when Worf asked about the time table concerning Worf's marriage to Troi. His eyes are super blue in that scene! I hadn't noticed this before, and I think I noticed it only because of watching that PHANTASMS episode where we get to see a young Soong. (of course, a make up less Spiner--blue blue eyes! :P ) That episode is on the disc before the disc where PARALLELS can be found.

Crazed Riker was interesting to watch, and some of the alternate timelines were rather interesting as well. Troi definitely isn't the woman for Worf, though!

Seemed to have missed this episode along my rounds. I enjoyed all the different realities. I wish there had been one where Pulaski was still the Doctor. Gets a 7 overall.
