  1. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

It'd be interesting for the prime Lorca to have to deal with meeting a crew that has met another version of him and struggle through that in Season 2.
  2. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

There are many great characters. That's what's so great about Star Trek. If there is no Lorca character after Season 1, it will be unfortunate. I'm sure that it'll still be a great series, though. I'm wondering what the future of the series will be and what Season 2 will be.
  3. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

It is interesting and I don't know where it's going. It'd be interesting if mirror Lorca stayed and helped the Discovery crew get back to the prime universe. It's definitely a series that's had a unique and complex story, thus far. Also, what if both Lorca's switched universes at the same time and each of their ships were destroyed, leaving the prime Lorca in the mirror universe somewhere?
  4. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

I was hoping against it, but as was guessed, Lorca is from the mirror universe. I'm hoping that the prime universe Lorca returns at some point, since he hasn't been seen, yet.
  5. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

I agree that the character, hopefully the prime universe Lorca, if the one in the series thus far ends up being from the mirror universe, should remain in the series. Also, what if they just switched places and that's why Lorca wanted to know what happened to himself in the mirror universe. Maybe the prime Lorca is running and is trying to make his way back to his universe. Again, assuming that the Lorca we've seen is the mirror Lorca.
  6. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

That could be possible, as well. What'd be really interesting is if he managed to find a way aboard the Discovery and had been waiting, trying to find the right moment to tell the crew about mirror Lorca, if he is the mirror Lorca. I know that won't likely happen, but it'd be interesting if he showed up like that, if that's where the story is going.
  7. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

This theory certainly has lots of points on each side of it. Who knows if it's true, or not? The possible hints are definitely there, though, if it's true.
  8. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

So many points and points to argue against points. It's great that it is getting this much discussion. It still seems like it'd be easier to take control of the prime universe Starfleet, considering that Lorca has the spore drive. He'd have to have his crew's support, but other than that, it might be easier than to take over in the mirror universe, as he likely won't have the prime universe Discovery crew's support. It's a lot of planning and a huge risk to him if it doesn't work. If he is from the mirror universe, then he is highly intelligent, memorizing Starfleet regulations and knowing the prime universe's history. We'll see what happens.
  9. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

True, but in another thread, there's been a theory that he destroyed the Buran, including the Lorca from the prime universe. I'm saying, if that is what happened, it's unfortunate.
  10. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

It does seem most likely unfortunately, as I find Lorca to be an interesting character and he may be written out of the series if he is a mirror universe character and/or an antagonist.
  11. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

Possibly, but there was nothing stopping him from letting Tyler go after her, instead of escaping. The mirror Lorca theory seems to be more likely, provided the different points that we've discussed, but I'm hoping that it doesn't end up being so, as Lorca is an interesting character and it'd be a shame to see him leave the Discovery, or even the series.
  12. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

That's true, but he also left Mudd behind instead of shooting him, which Tyler probably would've been okay with and I meant before L'Rell was a prisoner. While aboard the same ship that he met Mudd, he shot at her, which wounded her face, but he left her behind, even though Tyler was trying to get revenge at the time. Even if he is from the mirror universe, if he's okay with destroying the Buran, why would he leave Mudd and L'Rell behind? Also, I believe that Star Trek: The Next Generation mentions a conflict that had ended a year prior to Star Trek: Discovery's beginning. It's interesting how many different explanations there are that support each side of this theory. I don't fully agree with either side right now, as clearly it could go either way.
  13. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

There are many possibilities. It definitely makes for a lot of theories. I know that, but if he was from the mirror universe, he could just bring a lot more experienced crew aboard who have combat experience, as it is during a time of war. There are security crew there. I think that it'd be understandable for him to bring more aboard and keep the science crew, as well. Also, if he was willing to destroy the Buran and its crew, why would he agree to let Mudd go so easily, not to mention sparing L'Rell when he escaped the Klingon ship with Tyler (Voq)? Plus, it seems somewhat odd, if he is from the mirror universe, for him to want to return there to take over their Starfleet, instead of trying to take over the more peaceful one of the prime universe. It seems like it'd more difficult, to me.
  14. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

That would be interesting. You could even have both of them in the series, along with other characters from the prime universe Discovery, whose mirror universe selves could be working with the mirror Lorca. They could face themselves for a few episodes.
  15. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

Interesting theory. I'd rather he'd be from the prime universe, as a mirror Lorca would likely be an antagonist. There seem to be many things that could be hints toward the mirror universe theory being true, however, including him looking at windows (a mirror image sometimes) during the season, including his first appearance. Couldn't he have transferred a new, more experienced crew to the ship, though?
  16. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

I'm not certain of it just yet. I'd much prefer him to be a prime universe character that remains throughout the series. There are many great new characters and it would be a shame for the character to either be written off of the series, or revealed to be the antagonist, which would likely be the case if he is from the mirror universe.
  17. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

There seem to be many hints that Lorca is from the mirror universe. I am still wondering why he took so long to jump into the mirror universe, if that was what he had planned on doing from the beginning.
  18. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

It's possible. I feel like we'll know by the end of the season. Also, when Lorca talks with Cornwell, she mentions spending time with him before, an event which he doesn't seem to react to, causing her to ask if he remembers and he says that it's been a long time. That may be another hint that he is from the mirror universe.
  19. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

That still leaves a few questions, if Lorca in the mirror universe was never on the Discovery, he would have to have another way of discovering alternate universes, as the prime universe Lorca (if he isn't the mirror Lorca), seems to have most of his knowledge of them through the spore drive. He did mention that there have been theories since the 20th century, but that still doesn't prove that they exist. Lorca being from the mirror universe would bring up many questions.
  20. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

Of course, that's if he is the mirror universe Lorca. That would also bring up the question of how he made it to the prime universe. Perhaps the Defiant, or at least using the same method of travel?
  21. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

The look on Lorca's face when he saw the mirror universe Georgiou makes the theory that he is from the mirror universe more likely. He seemed like he was about to smile. If so, where is the prime universe Gabriel Lorca?
  22. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

That's what I thought when I saw the episode. If he's from the mirror universe, what happened to the prime universe Gabriel Lorca?
  23. Episode 1.10 “Despite Yourself” Discussion Thread

Maybe it'll be the same crew, just transported into the future and have to find a way to explore, adapting to the future. You could bring back past characters that way, too. Kirk, Riker and others, for example. I know that Kirk was written out of the franchise, but this could bring him back, if they wanted to.
  24. Episode 1.10 “Despite Yourself” Discussion Thread

We'll know soon enough, though. It almost feels like Season 2 to me, as the last episode felt like a season finale.
  25. The Gabriel Lorca Topic (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

I've thought that it might do that, as well, if it's not in the prime timeline already. Another idea of mine, since it is titled "Despite Yourself", is that it is the mirror universe and will possibly have crew members seeing the mirror universe versions of themselves. Either way, it's great that the series is almost back.
