  1. Episode 1.15 “Will You Take My Hand?” Discussion Thread

Honestly.......Chris Pine looks a lot like TOS Pike. Just saying.
  2. Episode 1.15 “Will You Take My Hand?” Discussion Thread

Yes, this is how fans should look at it. As our own, real tech advances and forces us to look at the world differently, so to should our interpretation of the future that Star Trek suggests. That means out "mind's eye" must be willing to see those new interpretations while keeping overall canon as gold. That seems to be what Discovery does. The straight pylon, skinny neck Enterprise of the TOS show simply does not fit, nor does it's bridge design and computer control. I mean come on, the damn thing ran on tape drives. Am I supposed to expect my kids to buy into a tape drive computer system on a modern TV show? No. The visual look of Trek must evolve to survive. That sometimes means adjusting the look. That sometimes means tossing Klingon boobs into the mix. Nothing is preventing anyone from going back and watching TOS and enjoying it for what it was.

Wouldnt it be funny if Bruce Greenwood appears? LOL.
  4. Episode 1.15 “Will You Take My Hand?” Discussion Thread

Such a great angle to view her at. She seriously fits perfectly. Every angle is perfect IMO.
  5. Episode 1.15 “Will You Take My Hand?” Discussion Thread

The Enterprise looked perfectly fine and as far as visual reboots go it was spot on. The two ships looks almost identical in size though. So there's that......
  6. Episode 1.15 “Will You Take My Hand?” Discussion Thread

Oh my god how am i supposed to wait a year after that last shot?
  7. Episode 1.14 “The War Without, The War Within” Discussion Thread

Or it's not prime universe all along.
  8. Episode 1.14 “The War Without, The War Within” Discussion Thread

Ugh. Why couldn't that have been Tpol or Archer making the epic appearance at the end? Especially after the NX-01 history lesson. I want a cool moment!
  9. Episode 1.13 "What's Past is Prologue" Discussion Thread

At the very least, we got a reasonable explanation for the weird design of the Terran Flag ship. It was indeed reasonable and one of a kind and I can now live with it.
  10. Episode 1.13 "What's Past is Prologue" Discussion Thread

The only war that bloody ever mentioned was the Romulan War. I dont buy it.
  11. Episode 1.13 "What's Past is Prologue" Discussion Thread

I agree, none of that Klingon war stuff is known canon. Has to be fixed in order to be Prime. However if you look at TrekYards recent video, they have good evidence that this is JJ verse, contrary to the powers that be saying its prime. If not, its a prime reboot and they reuse to say it still.
  12. Episode 1.13 "What's Past is Prologue" Discussion Thread

UM wow........did not expect mirror to go away tonight. Lorca was clearly beamed away before he died. For a second i thought they were going to "overshoot" to a post TNG era........oh well. So we're done with mirror and now we're doing time travel.........very interesting.
  13. Episode 1.12 "Vaulting Ambition" Discussion Thread

Another great episode. Lorca is out in every way now. Does he stick around beyond this season? This is gonna be good.......
  14. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

HE will, but he wont be captain of Discovery. Maybe he'll be emperor after all. Maybe he'll retreat back into the prime universe . Maybe he'll jump and team up with Nero and reboot all of the Trek universe's simultaneously. (LOL)
  15. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

Ok my thoughts after 2nd viewing. - Based on the look on Lorca's face upon seeing his empress.........he's actually working FOR her. She spared his life after his attempt, convinced him to join her and infiltrate the prime universe for an unknown reason (spore drive.) Seriously, the look on his face was that of "oh my god she's here, my queen is here and shit is about to go down." - Burnam in her lingerie at the beginning.........hot - Burnam's narration at the beginning, spot on, great writing.
  16. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

Regardless. This mirror universe actually makes you feel the difference, unlike any we've seen before. These episodes are well done.
  17. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

Lorca looked like he was relieved to see her. Like his plan was finally coming all together or something. That look on his face meant something for sure.
  18. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

We dont know that. The empress might fly under the radar a lot. One data core might not be enough to reveal her identity.
  19. Episode 1.11 "The Wolf Inside" Discussion Thread

Oh my god that episode was pure epic. These are perfectly written! Whats up with that look on Lorca's face when empress Georgiou shows up???? hahahaha. I love this show!!!
  20. Episode 1.10 “Despite Yourself” Discussion Thread

I have watched this great episode twice now. Here are my bullet points. - "The emperor laid waste to your ship in retaliation.....it is believed you escaped." Yes.....he escaped to their universe and he is putting on an act. We have seen evidence of this before. Especially when he input the override command that got them to the mirror universe in the first place. Question is, what is Lorca's mission? - Anyone catch the quite obvious Star Trek: The Motion Picture music ques? - Captain Tillly is hot as hell. that long blonde hair, curvy hips, and busty chest, wow. - Is this the same mirror universe we have seen before? Or a different one? Will the theme of Star Trek Discovery be similar to Sliders where they keep jumping from Universe to Universe trying to get home? Or is this just a few episode arc? I also believe that Mirror Universe Georgiou is the "faceless emperor."
  21. It'll be a Logan like movie featuring Chris Pine and Shatner and giving Shatner a proper death this time. The movie will feature the Kelvin timeline cast and "Old Kirk" can die differently this time because it's an alternate timeline. Based on the City on the edge of forever it'll involve time travel and also feature the often rumored return of Geoge Kirk. I can almost guarantee that is the jest of it.
  22. Episode 1.9: “Into the Forest I Go” Discussion Thread

Watching the episode again now and I gotta say that I am so happy because this, along with a few other episodes seriously gave me chills. It is totally Star Trek, but with the modern theistic themes attached. It feels like modern TV/story telling and a few scenes even feel like a top budget movie. That opening scene with Discovery orbiting Pahvo was beautiful. My bullet points so far. - I think we have ourselves a long lasting TV show here, we're in for a treat. - Either the show is taking place in a different universe, or Lorca himself is from a different universe. One of them has to be True. - At some point, 3 or 4 seasons in, we're in for an Enterprise story arc. Its gonna happen, they'd be stupid not to.
  23. Episode 1.9: “Into the Forest I Go” Discussion Thread

Well, we officially saw boobs in Star trek. Klingon boobs. Wow. What do we think about the theory of this show takes place in an alternative universe now? They seemed to elude to traveling between universes a lot in this episode. Where do we think they landed? Borg space? lol
  24. OK wow. Spoilers ahead!!! So are they trying to duplicate Iconian gateway tech? Seemed very similar and I dont see how there cannot be a connection. Obviously these experiments will fair since yanno, that tech isnt readily available by the time TNG comes around. Unless of course we're not in the prime timeline.
  25. Episode 1.3 “Context is for Kings” discussion thread.

You can delete my similar thread if you want, or merge it. Spoilers!!!! Anyway, are they trying to duplicate Iconian gateway tech? Seems there has to be a connection there. I love it so far.
