  1. Thanks for taking the time to read it. I'm going to have to get it on Blu-ray now since I netflixed it. I'm crossing my fingers for the 50th anniversary we get an extended cut along w theatrical cut as well.
  2. http://whatculture.com/film/5-reasons-star-trek-generations-doesnt-deserve-hate.php -- enjoy friends. Haven't been on here much lately, been working a lot, along w the holiday fun. I recently watched Generations and was very much entertained. I dropped the guard I once had up with it regarding Kirk's death, and the whole Nexus ribbon ambiguity, and it paid off for reconnecting with this movie in a big way. Hope you enjoy the read. Philip
  3. News on Trekweb FB page...

As of this morning it looks like Trekweb's FB page will remain alive and well. So anyone wishing to still visit that, and have some level of what the former website accomplished over the years should feel free to check in for new posts/news as well. Happy Turkey Day:)
  4. Just revamped this article, if anyone wants to take a look.. I hope I covered at least some of the areas some of you found Trek to come up short in over the last almost 50 years... http://mizhollywood....149230957031250 Moderator note: This topic has been closed since there already is one with the same link in the General Trek section. Please do not open multiple topics with the same content/links.

  6. New link to article guys and gals, had to tweak a few things: http://mizhollywood.com/10-unusual-production-decisions-for-the-star-trek-franchise-opinion-column/ My opinions remain the same, but let the fun debate commence! Cheers:)
  7. I hear ya on Insurrection..... The cast was still looking relatively young in it, and felt like it could have been a good opportunity to include Ds9 and the Next Gen crew for an even bigger picture than what was First Contact. Decent allegory, crappy execution, and overall flat in the humor department too.
  8. http://trekweb.com/articles/2013/07/26/Article-Star-Trek-Into-Darkness-and-Star-Trek-Insurrection-Strong-Allegories-for-the-Trek-Franchise-and-the-Real-World.shtml -- This may prove divisive, but I still enjoyed the hell out of Into Darkness for the hidden layers it had (Peter Weller lauds a lot of what they were trying to go for w the allegorical messages in it) And for Insurrection, there's aspects to appreciate in that as well, but not without plenty of flat moments as well. Enjoy the read!

  11. I like unconventional opinions... I just finished writing an article on whatculture.com about the 10 most bizarrre production decisions in Star Trek history- hopefully it gets published because I definitely didn't play it safe with what I felt fit that category eh. Doomsday Machine is still one of my fav Classic Trek episodes of all time... Still creepy after all these years.
  12. Thanks for the support on the articles. I know a lot of what I wrote probably served to tick off a lot of old school Trek fans in some regard, but writing with your own honesty is the best policy in my estimation.
  13. Thank you for the welcome.. My only hope now is that more Trek is on the way, and Paramount figures out who is directing the third film. I also would love to hear they plan on a new series around that time period, but who knows eh?
  14. Hi fellow Trek fans, I'm finally making my way over here from Trekweb.com I was lucky and appreciative that GustavoLeo allowed several of my Trek centric articles to be published over on Trekweb, and wanted to share the links on my first post. Feel free to give feedback. I wrote an analytical piece on Star Trek Insurecction/Into Darkness: http://trekweb.com/articles/2013/07/26/Article-Star-Trek-Into-Darkness-and-Star-Trek-Insurrection-Strong-Allegories-for-the-Trek-Franchise-and-the-Real-World.shtml Another one on The Doomsday Machine: http://trekweb.com/articles/2013/11/09/TrekWeb-Article-The-Doomsday-Machine-Quintessential-Trek.shtml And lastly, a more recent piece on "The Cage": http://trekweb.com/articles/2013/11/17/TrekWeb-Takes-a-Special-Look-at-The-Cage-Star-Trek-First-Pilot.shtml Enjoy, and I'm looking forward to talking all things Trek with all of you moving forward. Cheers:)
