  1. STAR TREK BEYOND Trailer Online

Lies. Simon Pegg shame on you. Lies? Based on? Based on this is not going to be the way he describes it. Based on the last two action movies, that had Star Trek branding applied to them. The trailer is an advertisement for an action/adventure movie, much in keeping with the latest trend of movies for those who are happy with things blowing up or energetic running. That is not Star Trek and this movie will just be like the last two. Simon Pegg, being a former Star Trek fan is aware that fans are not going to like this unintelligible farce and is doing his part, which he is paid to do, to promote the movie. I can be wrong, I hope I am. I also hope they kill Chris Pine's Kirk This is simply my opinion. I admit this trailer made my interest wane a bit, but to call Pegg a flat out liar is a bit silly at this point. We have no idea yet if the movie is going to be different from how he describes it. Sure looks like an action movie...and that is honestly okay as long as it has a deeper story underneath it. I was deliberately berating of him to be fair. He has lied though in the past as has been pointed out by another poster.
  2. Rewatching DS9

I am currently rewatching DS9. I am at the beginning of Season three and I've fallen in love with this show again! In fact I think I may be more in love with it, as I am noticing things as an adult that I completely missed when watching as a young to late teen. I recommend rewatching again.

  5. New Star Trek TV Series Being Developed

I'm actually hoping TOS, or maybe the era between TOS/TNG. Naw, that would be just another reboot, or at least be reboot-ish. I can't see reboots anymore. I'd rather see them come up with something fresh and new. Not another copy of a copy of a copy. And the best way to do that I can think of, would be setting it even further into the future beyond the 24th century. But then, no matter what they'll do, I'll look at it with an open mind. No More REBOOTS ... NO! Haha, it's time they moved the story on. I quite like an idea of a time jump from the last TNG movie. Gives them scope to play around with the existing universe and add in new races etc. Be great to see post-Dominion war Federation and Starfleet.

Thanks Sehlat, I have seen some of those suggestions, I will check them out again. I just re-read my post and I'm sorry if I come across as a little abrasive ... It wasn't intended

I understand your point Sehlat. I don't think you understood mine. Of course the onset has been viewed before, even on TWD (in flashback) and Atlanta was always treated like a background character, I agree that it added suspense but the characters always visited or remained static in a controlled environment, such as The Hospital (AFTER THE APOLCALYPSE HAD TOOK HOLD). They never settled there or even seemed to have any connection to the city other than looting or in Beth's case, being kidnapped. Even the flashback scene we see of Atlanta's fall is viewed and understood from the outside. Even the creators have cited that TWD is set within a rural environment, which is true. I would be happy for you to give me an example of a mainstream example of the onset ... Dated within the last fifteen to twenty years? I can think of Dawn of The Dead, we glimpse it until they seek refuge in The Mall and that's the extent of that onset ... World War Z, I hate this movie, I love the book. I'm passionate and I really like this show and it's characters. I feel a bit sad when people don't seem to get what they are trying to do and I don't think it will end up like TWD at all.

**SPOILER** I'm getting slightly frustrated with the I want it to be just like TWD. What would be the point in this show? I kind of think that some people are determined not too like it, or just for some reason don't get it. The creators have already said that this show is going to be different and they are keen to show the fall. I personally love this idea because all too often zombie shows and movies deal with the aftermath and writers are frightened of the logistical narrative of explaining the fall. I want to see these steps, I want to see people cling on and fight to preserve the world they know. Also, TWD characters are in Georgia, that's a very long way from LA. So we have no idea what the situation is like here or what it becomes. TWD is rural, this is set within a very large city, spread over a huge geographical area with stark contrasts in cultures and identities. These characters are not going to face the same challenges or pitfalls, we haven't read the last page (as someone mentioned before) because this particular story has not been writtten. Saying that would be like saying all zombie things are the same. We only need to compare TWD with Z Nation to know that is not true. Which is what makes it interesting to me. We believe we know but we have no idea.

SPOILER ALERT ** This show, for me, is just getting better and better! It will be interesting to see how the military are going to deal with the threat now they seem to have gained some form of control in this part of LA.
  13. Fear The Walking Dead Premiere Sets Cable Record

Could not agree more. My disappointment was compounded by the fact that it was partly filmed in Glasgow and I remember stalking the movie set (central Glasgow) at lunch times and the level of excitement building only to be delivered with that, less than ordinary movie.
  14. Fear The Walking Dead Premiere Sets Cable Record

I agree, World War - Z was immense. Not the movie, I pretend that never happened
  15. Fear The Walking Dead Premiere Sets Cable Record

Yeah, that was the official line anyway. I watched some cast interviews shot before the premiere aired and they teased that the first two episodes were quite slower than the rest of the season, so I'm expecting things to move a lot quicker now. It will be cool to see the evacuation centres, army and the initial fight against the infection that we only got to see in TWD after they had been over-run.
