  1. Last Videogame You Played?

How is that game??? I was thinking about getting it and Shogun 2 when I get a good enough computer. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition I enjoy it a ton. It plays pretty smoothly and the whole amphibious landings and sea/land battles is a really awesome aspect. And the guys at Sega are really working hard to get rid of any bugs. But seriously, you need a really good graphics card and a good deal of RAM for it. Mine isn't exactly low end, but it still isn't powerful enough to handle it's high end graphics. So yes, go forward and get it young man. Well I have to get the computer first, this one I'm using is close to 10 years old and this thing can't even run 99% of the low end games on steam or even Minecraft. I'm fine with it running XP but it needs a lot of hardware upgrades, RAM inculded.

  4. Models and CGI in Star Trek...which is better?

I wish they wouldn't retire them either, but the fact of the matter is CGI is more cost effective these days than spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a model to use, and then put the beautiful thing in storage or let it degrade into seriously poor condition. Which is so weird to me considering that I remember the days when CGI cost a lot. I'd love like a combo of the two. Jurassic Park proved to me that both have their strengths and are great combined. Well cheaper in a sense that you can pay one person to do the computer model over several to do different things to build a physical filming model. As far as how much they pay to do the CGI models I'm unsure.
  5. NCIS

I like NCIS but I haven't watched it in a while, and I actually didn't know it was a spin off to JAG.
  6. Which one is yours and why??? Mine is tied between the Constitution Refit, the Galaxy class, and the Sovereign class. Refit because it was the first ship I ever saw in star trek because my uncle showed me TWOK when I was 3, Galaxy class because it was from the first series I ever watched at 4, and then the Sovereign because that ship is gorgeous!!!

  11. The Beer Thread

Everytime I see a Jager bottle I cringe. I made the mistake of sipping my first shot of it. NASTY!!! Vicks 44D taste just like it. However, it does taste tolerable when mixed w/ Coke. See...Coke makes EVERYTHING better!!! 1 of only 2 good things to come out of Atlanta. my twin got me hooked on the stuff, i love it lol

  13. ssoooo many members so few posters....

I've wondered about this myself, there used to be a lot more people active on here, I only recently became active again after dealing with a lot of personal bullsh*t that came up over the past couple of years.
  14. Would you support a color switch again?

I for one have always loved the TOS "The Cage" away team jackets. They looked stylish and also useful. (I think the worst thing about TNG and TOS era Starfleet uniforms is the LACK OF POCKETS. Seriously. lol) But you're right, of course, the TNG era uniforms look more like particularly comfortable pajamas. They don't even absorb sweat, after all... I understand starfleet's main purpose being exploration, I'm all for it, but in a time of war they are a military organization, at least that's my understanding of it from seeing the Dominion war arc of DS9. I suggest military style uniforms because to me it makes a little more sense, and they are still presentable to a diplomatic visitation on board of a ship should the need arise, but functional should they find themselves in a combat situation. I know, I was just teasing a bit. I love Jean-Luc's innocent line about Starfleet not being military but exploration... but many things that we see even on TNG suggest very much otherwise. One thing I forgot to mention about the military style uniforms: the technical reason the uniforms changed styles in TNG was because they were messing with Sir Patrick Stewart's back and his chiropractor recommended they be changed so he wouldn't be injured. Military uniforms you wouldn't have to worry about this because you have separate shirt and pants that are tucked in, pocket issues would also be taken care of with this option. They are also quite comfortable and I speak from some experience since I wore a "quasi" military uniform in high school because I was in my school's NJROTC program and I was planning on enlisting in the navy after I graduated, that got shot to hell after I was diagnosed with diabetes.
