    New music video - 'Polite'

This is from my band, 'The Ink Pneumites'.

We're currently finishing up an album called 'Jupiter', and this is the first single.

My favourite movie of all time has a stupid title, especially compared to the original.

    "Blade Runner"

The fact is that "A Princess of Mars" and "John Carter of Mars", along with "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" are the kind of titles attached to films that perform poorly. This is obviously an expensive production, so it makes sense that they're not going to take the risk.

I don't think Nero was particularly weak. I appreciated what I saw as a fairly unique character.

Yeah, I agree. A TV show would make me so much happier. Too bad I'm not much of a target market.

    If It's Khan...
Now, I'm a guy who thoroughly enjoyed 2009 Star Trek. That's enough around here to be labeled as crazy, but I've been accused of worse.

As much as the most hardcore Abrams hater, I don't want Khan to be the villain in the new movie. Why? Not because I don't think they can pull it off (I think they absolutely can, and furthermore I think Ricardo Montalban is an awful actor and pretty darn easy to top), but because I think it's the "safe" decision.

I don't want "safe". I want them to take a risk. I want them to do a new villain or even something unexpected. We're in a new universe, maybe we can make the Borg scary again!

But if it's Khan, which it very well could be, I hope that they've decided to do "Space Seed" and not "The Wrath of Khan".

I think I might understand what the culprit is. I think that this song is better enjoyed in the context of the entire album.

The album as a whole has ups and downs, with each song exploring a different sonic texture.

Perhaps you'll all enjoy it more while listening to the complete album 'Strange Mercy'.

As a musician, I have to ask: what on Earth do you mean by "get going"?

Isn't it, from the moment it starts, by definition, going?

I think these are good writers, HR. Can you explain to me why you think these writers are bad?

I don't care if the klingons have ridges or not. The art direction alone isn't enough to make or break a film, unlike dialogue or acting.

    St. Vincent (Annie Clark)

    I think I'm in love.

    Her new album is available.

And in case your heart isn't already broken, watch this:

Seriously, though, she is the best vocalist I've ever heard. And her music is deliciously original.

Hmm... I thought it was a little hackneyed.

Not my cup of music. Sorry.
  11. A Reasonable Facsimile added a post in a topic What was the last non-Trek tv show you watched?

    Finished 'Studio 60'.

Honestly, I'd prefer a second season of it to a second season of Firefly.

What is it about Aaron Sorkin dialogue? I just can't go back to anything else.

I loved that plot! Those characters were very interesting.

I've no idea. I've been told O'Brien, before. But that's because my hair is curly when it's longer.

Let's see the first starfleet ship to travel to another galaxy (I mean, on purpose).

Let's meet some NEW races. New EMPIRES, even. What about a fascist dictatorship similar in appearance, but not values, to the federation?

Let's go ahead by 100 years.

Let's explore the politics of the federation more closely. Like we saw in The Undiscovered Country.

Oh, how I long for some Sorkinesque dialogue on a starship. Think of the walking meetings. Just think!

'Razor' was incredible. My favourite part of the franchise.

Except for 'Sometimes a great notion', but I won't spoil that.
